23rd Annual Victor Alvarez Race at Snow Summit

Join us at Snow Summit on Saturday, March 9, for the 23rd annual Victor Alvarez Memorial Race to benefit the Snow Summit Race Team. The annual event honors Alvarez, a longtime instructor and Race Team supporter who passed away in a skiing accident in 1994. All proceeds from the event will go to the Big Bear Ski Education Foundation, a nonprofit organization managed by the Race Team.

In addition to the race, each year team members and their parents help organize a silent auction at the SoCal Marketplace with several items available for bidding, including lodging getaways, ski and snowboard equipment/clothing, gift baskets, and more. The auction begins at 10 AM on March 9 and is open to the public.

Race registration will be in the Snow Summit Race Team office on March 9 from 8 AM to 9:30 AM and is open to skiers of all ages and abilities. Modified and giant slalom qualifying will begin at 10 AM, with head-to-head races starting at 1 PM. Race entry is $50 for participants ages 15 and younger and $80 for ages 16 and older. Winter 2018/19 season pass holders receive a $10 registration discount with the top men’s and women’s finishers receiving cash prizes (amount TBD).
