The Inaugural Big Bear Kids’ Adventure Games at Bear Mountain

The Inaugural Big Bear Kids Adventure Games at Bear Mountain starts up September 3rd through 4th featuring a adventure race where teams of two navigate a terraininspired obstacle course just for kids!. This event allows kids ages 6 through 14 an opportunity to experience the thrill of adventure racing, while learning teamwork skills and honing confidence in a one-of-a-kind outdoor experience just for them. Kids can expect mountain biking, hiking, zip lines, a Tarzan rope swing, giant Slip-n-Slide, river tubing, cargo nets, mud pits and more. Art on the Corner

Starting September 3rd-5th from 10 PM to 6 PM enjoy a NEW art show hosted by The Village on the corner of Village Drive and Pine Knot Avenue in downtown Big Bear Lake. Fine Art and Craftsmanship will be featured in a variety of popular mediums.  Enjoy a glass of wine, enjoy the live music and browse the multitude of artwork. The show is  FREE to attend at any age!

Lyvyn Skynyrd at The Cave!

Lyvyn Skynyrd is the ultimate Lynyrd Skynyrd tribute band!. Based out of Southern California and on September 4th from 6:30 PM to 11 PM you can enjoy these consummate musicians and soulful rockers bring home the energy! The Cave is a intimate music venue in Big Bear that promises to bring you varied performers all year long. Tuesday Farmer Markets!

Every week until October, enjoy the local Farmer’s Market held every Tuesday from 7 AM to 2 PM at the popular Big Bear Lake Convention Center in Big Bear City. Browse the fresh produce, fruit, honey and jams. Also for sale are trinkets, toys, clothes and personally handcrafted items for use in the kitchen to even the backyard! Entry is FREE. Arrive early for best parking spots and bring cash for easy bartering.

Live Music!

Every Friday night in Big Bear Lake you can find a round-up of musicians playing the blues, country or rock n roll standards at the local pubs in town, including: Chad’s Place, Whiskey Dave’s and Nottingham’s Tavern. The other choice for live music is The Cave – which offers a new or favorite act ever weekend. They also offer food service and great drink specials. Entrance is 18+.

Old Miners’ Big Bear Heritage Parade

It all started about 150 years ago, when, “There’s gold in them Hills!” was the cry that sparked thousands to leave their homes and race across untamed land in hopes of striking it rich in the California gold fields. People flocked to the San Bernardino Mountains, and legends were made. This Heritage Parade is the longest parade in the valley, on September 10th at 11 AM to 12 Noon. As usual, it will be held around The Village area of Big Bear Lake and curbside seats are first come, first served.

46th Annual Big Bear Lake Oktoberfest

This infamous popular festival starts early this year! Running from September 10th, 2016 until 12:00 PM on October 29th, 2016 12:00 AM this season. As usual, this fest will offer contests, games, liquor, beer, German and American food as well as a live German Band! Runs until Midnight every Saturday. Sunday is considered Family Fun Day and closes at 5 PM. Kids and adults alike can enjoy the avenue of booths and indoor entertainment. This fest is not to be missed!
