If you have ever been to a Renaissance Fair then you know how much fun they can be and you will definitely want to go to Big Bear Lake this weekend! Every weekend during the month of August you have the opportunity to take a trip up to Big Bear Lake, California and thoroughly enjoy this fun and exciting event, at the 2017 Renaissance Fair! Here’s your chance to dress up in your “Game of Thrones” attire and experience 1st hand the exciting feeling of being in the Renaissance Era! If you’re not into dressing up, that’s fine too because there are so many wonderful activities, fun and games that you’re sure to get into the spirit no matter how you dress.
The 16th annual Big Bear Valley Renaissance Faire takes place August 5-6, 12-13, 19-20 and 26-27 at Pederson’s Mill in Fawnskin, at the north shore of Big Bear Lake. The hours are from 10:00 AM – 06:00 PM. The Renaissance Faire is a full day of mirth and merriment, excitement and even education. The village streets are filled with crafts, food, stages, games and costumed characters of the Renaissance Era everywhere! The “Enchanted Shire” is sure to entertain you with six stages of ongoing shows performing every half-hour. The “Great Square” is filled with the excitement of pirate battles, maypole dances, and many other fun adventures! The action continues with blazing jousts contests with real horses that add to the excitement of this wonderful event!
You can even try your hand at jousting and participate in games from the 15th century! Naughty wenches are singing, fairies are twinkling, belly dancers are looking for husbands. Everywhere you look there are pirates, jugglers, tales and mischief galore!
So head up to the cool temperatures of the mountains in Big Bear Lake, Fawnskin, and go back in time to experience the wonderful entertainment and food from the “Game of Thrones” Era!
