. As you walk into this wonderful log style home has high vaulted wood ceilings and wood floors throughout. The living room has a wood burning stone fireplace, TV/DVD/WiFi in an open floor plan.The kitchen has a microwave, dishwasher and the essentials for your cooking needs plus a great dining table for friends and family. You'll enjoy relaxing in the outdoor spa on the back deck that is surrounded by pine trees. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, with a master with a king bed, TV and a private bath. The 2nd bedroom has a queen bed and the 3rd bedroom with a twin bed and a bunk set This property is on a large lot that is open to the forested mountain. There is laundry and a propane BBQ for your use. Great for families that want to have a fun weekend in the snow with family. Great sledding!! This property is great for all seasons!!

February 16th, 20215 out of 5 starsA weekend in Winter WonderlandOur family had a great stay at Columbine Oak Retreat. There was a snow storm coming in on the Friday of our weekend stay so we asked the management company if we could possibly beat the storm and stay Thursday night as well. They graciously put us up in the cabin across the street for the night. Jennifer was friendly and easy to communicate with. We had the most snow we've ever seen in Big Bear and enjoyed every minute of it. The cabin itself is large, clean and fairly new. There are large comfy couches in the living room so the whole family could easily hang out there. The kitchen is pretty well stocked but I would say that the quality of the items are of a lesser caliber than the cabin itself. (Mismatched glasses and coffee cups, no wine glasses, etc.) We loved the jacuzzi after a day of skiing/boarding. (Remember to leave for the slopes early - the parking fills up quickly and there is traffic!) There is a hill right on the property to do some sledding and there are sleds in the garage. All in all, this is a very nice place to stay. |

Beautiful views of the night sky. Very nice place. Would recommend to owners to replace screens on windows bugs were getting in. Also replace dinning chairs and fix balusters on front deck. |

The cabin had everything we needed and there was a thoughtfully placed dog lead in the back yard for our pup (yard not fenced). Beautiful location! |

May 19th, 20184 out of 5 starsCozy & relaxingour stay at Columbine home was very pleasant. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need. Restrooms clean and fully stocked. Jacuzzi was awesome. Living room was very comfy and cozy. Master bedroom was great. Overall house was very clean and I would recommend. The only suggestion to make is to add a TV In 2nd bedroom that has queen bed. Property management company was excellent. |

November 28th, 20175 out of 5 starsPerfect secluded but close to town family getawayWe went so that my family could enjoy eachothers company as well as beautiful California; play cards, board games, eat homemade meals at night, outdoor activity by day.Everything was as described on the website and even better, we took a LOT of supplies & didn't need to the cabin had it all a turkey roaster, tea kettle, blender, even legos, board games and shampoo etc no need to take much. Seriously I have stayed in some cabins and bigger ones but there was something about this one besides the amenities there was love in the air. I have at LEAST 6 people who have asked me for the information so they can book their next family getaway. Thank you to the owners for sharing! |

If you bring a dog keep them close by as there were a lot of coyotes and a pack hanging out pretty much in the front yard. We would definitely stay again. A few suggestions though: the kitchen was really dark, It needs more lighting, more towels would be good especially with the jacuzzi. |

August 8th, 20175 out of 5 starsGreat Cabin for family/couples stay!Excellent Big Bear Cabin in a quiet, secluded area of Big Bear. Went in August. Easy reservations, checkin and checkout. Very clean accommodations, comfortable beds, great kitchen, and terrific hot tub. Plenty of space in dining area and living room for eating, games, and entertainment. Really enjoyable neighborhood to stroll around. All on one level, but need to go up flight of stairs to access cabin. Soap, shampoo, conditioner provided. Basic load of linens, kitchen utensils, cookware, tableware, etc. If you think you need extras (eg towels, laundry detergent, kitchen trash bags) or have special kitchen needs (special knife, spices, coffee) try and bring your own. Dollar Tree store and Vons (next to each other) has just about anything you forgot to bring. 15 min or less drive to most parts of Big Bear Lake. Many places to rent bikes, kayaks, outdoor equipment. Would definitely rent again. |

The outside spaces could use some general clean-up (spider webs covering the staircase when we walked up),and it would have been nice to have more outdoor furniture; but it was great to have the BBQ and jacuzzi. The property management company was very attentive (ex. dropped off ant spray when I notified them we found a few ant trails throughout the house, allowed early check-in). There were differences in things listed on VRBO versus the contract property company has you sign (check out time was listed as 11 am on VRBO but 10 am in the contract) so make sure to read the contract carefully. The kitchen is a great size and has most of the basics. Make sure to bring your own foil, plastic bags, AND trash bags because those are not provided (they provide one or two trash bags but that is it). Bedrooms are a good size and they put out extra towels which was nice to have on hand. Overall it was a good experience. |

Nice quiet neighbor hood. 10 minutes drive from Big Bear Blvd. Cabin was clean, Furnished beatifuly. Kitchen was fully stocked. Lots of movies, games, even a telescope to view the stars at night. My family & loved it |

As others have mentioned, the property is not 100% spotless but it was mostly carpet stains. The important parts like sinks, showers, and bathrooms were all very clean. The kitchen and living areas were also very nice. The property was very kid friendly and on a very quiet street. I'd book again. |

September 7th, 20164 out of 5 starsNice cabin in a quiet neighbourhoodThe cabin was good but it needs some improvement. The carpet was old and looked dirty and needs to be replaced. Has a great living and kitchen area with new updated counters. Some of the plates had chips and need to be thrown away but there were plenty of good ones for us to use.The baking trays needs to be replaced. The third bedroom is suitable for kids and not for adults. Some of the closets and drawers had some things which probably the owners had stored there. Would have been nice to have some more deck chairs with a table for outdoor seating. There were two chairs in the front and two really low chairs on the back deck. It is quite a distance up from Big Bear Blvd with but in a nice quiet neighbourhood. The property management was attentive to our needs and responded in a timely manner. They had the unit ready for our use with the hot tub turned on when we arrived. Overall we had a great time at the cabin. |

Could use some upgrades like new screens on the windows, summer time gets warm! given the aspect of the sun and direction that the house sits the house stays very warm in the evenings. Fans would be nice. Walkway needs repair significant trip hazard while walking in the dark or carrying bags.Great trip otherwise! |

October 6th, 20154 out of 5 starsNice place but needs lots of TLC.The glass in the kitchen cabinet doors were covered in fingerprints. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets are in poor condition. Lots of scratches and dirty. They should be refinished or replaced.The white grout on the kitchen counters has turned brown from stains and doesn't look very clean. Counter tops need to be replaced. Barely a complete set of glasses and plates for six people. Ice maker in refrigerator was clogged with an ice dam and wouldn't dispense. When the ice was cleared, no new ice was made even though the ice maker was turned on. Dishwasher front needed to be cleaned. Having wall-to-wall carpets in the bathrooms seems like a nasty, germ-ridden idea, especially around the toilets (there were clean toilet rugs). Overall the carpeting throughout needed to be cleaned and the walls need to be repainted as there are lots of marks and scratches. Front screen door screen was ripped and the door gets jammed. Needs to be replaced. The beds were comfortable and spa was clean and heated when we arrived. This property would live up to its photos better (and be worth the price) if it was kept in better condition. |

The 10am check out time is just too early, you feel like you lose a whole day! The spa looked clean and had a floating chlorine dispenser, but unfortunately had an unpleasant odor. We did not notify the management of this, so I really can't complain too loudly. As a positive, when we did not find dishwasher detergent or enough dish towels,1 small only, a delivery was promptly made of both items. |

Screens need to be repaired that had holes in them; we had lots of flying things at night! The front & back screen door need to be redone as well as they do not fit & leave gaping holes for bugs to enter. The chemicals in the hot tub were very strong. However, the deck & beautiful area in the back made a great place to relax. Great home & we will be back! |

Once you walk up the stairs to the front door, I was happy to see that everything is on one level. The decor in the common area is gorgeous. Comfy beds (My daughter said it was the best night sleep she'd had in a long time!) There is plenty of space in the backyard for sledding on the property. Loved it! |

December 16th, 20145 out of 5 starsBeautiful Home!I loved my stay in this beautiful home, on a quiet woodsy street. The management staff was very easy to work with, friendly, and helpful. The beds and sofa are very comfortable, and the entire place was extremely clean. It was an added plus to park in the garage, since the ground was covered with snow, with some icy patches. I saw snow melt in the garage, but did not use it. Sleds were also available. I treasure the memory of the hot jacuzzi experience, under the stars, surrounded by snow. The location is a maze of turns to find, but no problem with a navigation system. Nice view. |
